Critical Mass is a monthly bicycle ride to celebrate cycling and to assert
cyclists' right to the road. The idea started in San Francisco in September
1992 and quickly spread to cities all over the world. The traditional
time for these rides is the LAST Friday of every month at 5:30 pm.
Macomb's Critical Mass ride starts at the traditional time on the South side of Chandler Park near the fountain and lasts approximately 30 minutes. It traverses Macomb city streets,
travels as a single group, and takes a leisurely pace. The exact route is
determined the day of the ride and tends to be different every month.
All riders are welcome to join.
Macomb's ride is intended to raise bicycling visibility and awareness in
the Macomb area as well as an opportunity for bicylists of all kinds - sports
riders, leisure riders, commuters, etc. to meet each other and have fun.
If you are interested - please join us in Chandler Park in downtown Macomb (near the fountain) at 5:30 pm the last Friday of the month. If you know anybody else that might be interested, by all means please pass the word along.
DISCLAIMER
Critical Mass ride is not a sanctioned or 'organized' ride - it is just a bunch of really nice people who happen to meet once a month to ride around Macomb. This website is provided as a public informational service and is not associated with the critical mass ride in any official way.
